Why: San Francisco borrows New Orleans’ style for a weekend in the largest free jazz festival on the West Coast, aka the Fillmore Jazz Festival. This event draws over 100,000 visitors and offers over 12 blocks of fine arts and crafts. For its 36th season, Shakespeare in the Park will be bouncing around the Bay from Cupertino to Pleasanton. This year, they’re kicking off with a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
