Review:

The Veyo communicates ride share drivers with senior-most and unfortunate people who require lifts to non-emergency medical bookings. All the drivers undergo background checks, drug tests, and training in first medical aid with CPR, not to mention ADA/HIPAA courses and consumer fragility training. While Veyo provides this training for free, the drivers do not get compensated for the substantial time they require.

When drivers finally get certifications, their payment will depend on the town and the number of kilometers from the pick-up to delivery “through the most direct way,” according to maps by Google. In California however, drivers get paid $1 per pick, plus $1.15 per kilometer and according to Veyo’s website. Where, if you were driving a person for 10 kilometers, you would get around $12.50 as the total.

Needless to say, there is no surplus payment for the driver’s time, so they get paid the same sum if the 10 kilometers take 15 minutes or an entire hour. However, if you go out of your route to avoid traffic, you will not get paid for these extra kilometers. The Veyo pays once a week through direct deposits.

Furthermore, if you are transporting the elderly, who might be crippled or require acute assistance, you can expect that pick-up till drop-offs will take more than twice as long as they could for a simple ride. You do not get paid for your time or kilometers exhausted in getting to the consumer

No-show problem:

If and when the customer does not show up, there is no commission for the driver. And the drivers complain, that as many as more than 50% of assigned rides never do show up.

One saving option for this application is, however, that it provides considerable bonuses to new riders. According to the company’s “concurrent rewards” channel, newer drivers can get a bonus that ranges from $250 to $500 in total. The existing riders who refer new drivers and who log in and take at the lesser of a set number of transports, get more bonuses of $100 or so.

The bad news:

Some of the riders tell that the company does not at all honor its reward systems. The company’s conditions state that the rewards can change at any time.
